A LUSAKA Water and Sewerage Company (LWSC) public relations officer has been petitioned for divorce in the Lusaka High Court by his wife who claims their seven-year marriage has broken down irretrievably.
According to a petition for dissolution of marriage, Mutinta Chilala, a medical doctor said she was lawfully married to Nshamba Muzungu on December 15, 2012 at the registrar’s office at Civic Center Lusaka and lived together as husband and wife at house number 105, Chainama, Minestone area.
She said Muzungu agreed to a decree nisi being granted in which he stated that having separated on March 18, 2017, they had not co-habited as man and wife for two years.
Ms Chilala contended that the marriage has broken down irretrievably and the pair has lived apart for a continuous period of at least two years immediately preceding the presentation of the petition.
She said during the same marriage they only had one child born on April 25, 2012 but Muzungu has two children with another woman.
Ms Chilala said that no arrangements had been made or was proposed to be made between the parties for her support of the children of the family.
She is now asking the court to dissolve the marriage and that she be granted custody of their child.
She said Muzungu should have access at reasonable times.
Ms Chilala asked that Muzungu should maintenance for the child of the family and that each party bears its own costs.
