A TAILOR of Lusaka’s Kanyama Township yesterday denied breaking into Deeper Life Church and stealing seven mattresses and a television set among other items worth over K13, 000.

This is in a matter in which David Lombe, 24 faces two counts of breaking into a building and committing a felony.

In count one, it is alleged that on August 5, Lombe broke into Dee church premises and stole a plasma Television set, seven mattresses and two carpets property valued at K1, 214 from the church.

In count two, it is alleged that on August 11 Lombe broke into the same church and stole three curtains, a keyboard and a bicycle altogether valued at K10, 859.

Lombe who is in police custody appeared before Lusaka Chief Resident Magistrate Lameck Mwale.

A this point Mr Mwale informed the accused that he was at liberty to apply for bail but Lombe informed the court that he had no one to sign for him.

The matter comes up on September 24 for  trial.
