THE Zambia volleyball beach national teams have stepped up preparations ahead of the Confederation of African Volleyball (CAVB) Tokyo 2920 Olympic Games zonal phase qualifiers to be held in Maputo, Mozambique from January 10-15.
Zambia Volleyball Association (ZAVA) general secretary Gift Chesekela said that the teams began intensive training on Friday at the OYDC ahead of the Olympic qualifiers home fixtures.
Chesekela said the teams had been having double training sessions and would continue until departure on January 8 .
He said the technical bench has about 12 players available for selection of the final four per gender.
He named the players as Joshua Tembo, Brighton Mwenya, Zachariah Kanyimbo, Jack Choongo, Nchimunya Siakula and Abraham Tembo for the men category.
He said the ladies category comprised of Brenda Mulenga, Grace Manyele, Esther Sitambuli, Canicia Bwalya and Joy Musampula for the BVB national team.
Chesekela said the team was expected in Maputo on January 9 and that the technical bench tutored by Isaac Tembo was working round the clock to prepare the teams to deliver for Zambia during the Tokyo 2020 qualifiers.
