A MAN of Choma has been jailed for 6 months by the Choma Magistrates Court for stealing motor vehicle wheel drums worth K1, 500.
This was heard in a matter in which Chibale Mvula was convicted for theft contrary to section 272 of Chapter 87 of the Penal Code of the Laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offence are that Mvula on December 14 2019 stole 3 wheel drums the property of Mr Davies Muhau.
According to facts read by Senior Public Prosecutor Charles Chinzai Mvula was apprehended after the trader he sold the drums told the Police how he came into possession of the stolen items.

Court: On your own admission I hereby find you guilty and will sentence you accordingly
Prosecutor: He is a first offender your honour.
Despite pleading that he was a family man and that if sent to prison the children will suffer, Magistrate Muyambango Munukayumbwa jailed Mvula to six months imprisonment with hard labour to deter would-be offenders.
