FAZ president Andrew Kamanga has hailed President Edgar Lungu’s daughter Tasila Lungu for her tireless efforts in enhancing the growth of football at grass-root level.
Speaking when Tasila who is a Nkoloma Ward-1 Councilor paid a courtesy call on Andrew Kamanga yesterday, the FAZ chief said the local soccer governing body was impressed with the presi-dent’s daughter who recently delivered Kuku Stadium.
Kamanga said the modern sports facility in Lusaka’s Chawama Constituency would help youths in the area to discover and im-prove their talents.
He noted that the association was in the process of implementing youth leagues in Lusaka and the Kuku Stadium would add a lot of value to football in particular and sports development in Zambia.
“We are impressed with the work the honorable councilor has done in Chawama in delivering the stadium. As FAZ, this is something we can emulate and replicate at grass-root level,’’
“The infrastructure is important for sports development. Through our Technical Department, we want to explore ways to partner with grass-root ventures such as the one in Chawama,” Kamanga said.
Tasila conferred with Kamanga on football development.
Kamanga expressed gratitude that Tasila visited Football House and shared her vision in sports development and looked at ways of collaborating with FAZ to contribute to the growth of Sports.
When unveiling Kuku Stadium earlier this year, Tasila said the stadium was for the community and looked forward to athletes in various sports disciplines excelling.
“The ground is for the community to enjoy and benefit from. I look forward to many more champions in various disciplines emerging from our great community,” She said.
