A 23-YEAR-OLD man has appeared in Chongwe Magistrate Court for defiling his 11-year-old sister.
Saleti Lungu appeared for trial before Magistrate Masiyaleti Sinvula.
Facts before court are that, the accused is alleged to have defiled the minor of Nchinga Lwendo Village in Chinyunyu area of Rufunsa District, on Aug.27, 2019.
It is alleged that about 11:00hours, on the material day, the accused went to the victim’s house while his mother was away, dragged her to a nearby bush and defiled her.
The minor then recounted in detail, how the brother dragged her into the nearby and forced himself onto her after as she resisted.
She told court that she reported the matter to a neighbour as her mother was attending a funeral within the village.
The neighbour reportedly examined the girl and discovered that girl was indeed injured on her private parts.
Court heard that the neighbour then called for the minor’s mother and with the help of Neighborhood Watch Committee, apprehended the suspect.
The matter was reported police where they were referred to Chinyunyu Clinic, and later Chongwe Hospital where further medical examinations were conducted. Police arrested the suspect, and took the matter to court.
The matter was adjourned to Oct. 21 and 28, 2019 for continued trial while the suspect was remanded in custody.
