A PASTOR of Chelstone in Lusaka has been sued for allegedly stealing property worth over K90, 000 belonging El Shadai Ministries Church.
Michael Zulu, 27 is charged with theft Contrary to Section 272 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
It is alleged that on December 12, last year Zulu stole two TBL speakers, a mixer, an amplifier, a receiver, three micro phones, a key board, a connector cable and a gross machine altogether valued at K95, 000, the property of the Church.
When the matter came up for plea before Lusaka Magistrate Alice Walusiku yesterday, Zulu pleaded not guilty.
The matter c0mes up on February 3, for trail and Zulu’s bond was extended.
Meanwhile, a human resource officer at Lusaka’s Pembe Milling Company has been charged with theft for allegedly stealing bags of wheat and flour meal worth over K15, 000.
Fred Chola,30 of Farm 88, off Mungwi Road in Lusaka is jointly charged with Jacob Mulenga,24 a general worker, Lastock Chiluba,43, a businessman of Kannada Township and Apton Tembo, 39, a driver of Barlastone, Lusaka.
In the first count Chola and Mulenga are charged with theft by servant.
It is alleged that on December 18 last year in Lusaka, Chola and Mulenga, being persons employed as general workers by the milling company stole 41x50kg bags of wheat and 6x50kg bags of flour meal all valued at K15,631.75, the property of the said employee.
The accused are expected to be appear for plea soon.
