SENSATIONAL Zanaco FC has fired it head coach Numba Mumamba and assistant coach Kelvin Kaindu following a string of poor results.
The Bankers made the decision on Sunday evening following a string of poor results that had seen the team go nine games without a win.
The club has since placed current Team Manager Robin Munsaka and goalkeeper coach Kalumba Mpunga in charge of the team in the interim capacity.
On Sunday afternoon the Bankers suffered a heavy 3-1 defeat at the hands of Lusaka dynamos to send them into the relegation zone.
According to sources within the club, it was very unlikely that Numba and Kaindu would return from the ‘Administrative leave’ and this may be the end of their tenure as a new trainer was set to be unveiled tomorrow.
Sources within Zanaco said that former national team trainer Wedson Nyirenda was poised to take over the reins at Sunset Stadium , a development general manager Kananda described as a mere rumor.
Kananda however confirmed that his club would be making a major announcement regarding the status of its coaches tomorrow.
ZANACO are currently on a nine-game winless run in all competitions and last won a match in November when they beat Cano Sport of Equatorial Guinea 5-1 in the CAF Confederations Cup Playoff.
They are 15th on the log table with only 13 points collected from 12 games played with three games in hand.
